PELLEGRINI PETIT. On September 25, LINA née Grech Cumbo, aged 100, widow of Notary Peter Paul, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, surrounded by her children Myriam and her husband Martin, Cecilia and her partner Tonio, Edward and his partner Stephanie, Lucienne and her husband Robert, Ariane and her husband Paul, their families, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her in-laws Gaby, Rosemary and Rose Martin. The funeral will leave St James Hospital for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, today Monday, September 27, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30am, followed by inter-ment at St George cemetery, Naxxar. No flowers by request but donations to id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest. CACHIA. On September 17 at home, Marguerite née von Brockdorff, wife of the late Joe, passed away peacefully to eternal life comforted by the rites of the Holy Church and surrounded by her loving family. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved daughter Anita, her son Malcolm and his wife Natasha, her grandchildren Rachel and her partner Luca, Diana and her husband Mark, Sandrina and Felicity and her great- grandchildren Sophia, Max and Michael. She also leaves to mourn her loss her brothers Albert and Robert and his wife Liz, her nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends and her devoted carer Cynthia. The funeral will take place at St Gregory parish church, Sliema tomorrow, Monday, September 20, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 2pm. Nobile Guido Lanfranco, Hereditary Nobile of Hungary

 

LANFRANCO. On September 8, GUIDO, passed away peacefully, aged 90. His loss is mourned by his wife Salvina, his children Sandro, Nurtan, Graziella, and Stephen; his grandchildren Maia and Andrew, Kurt and Shianne, Amik and John, Greta and Boris; his great-grandchildren Hayley, Michael and Ema. He is also survived by his four brothers, Antoine, Josie, Robert and Edwin, and their spouses, and by his in-laws, nephews and nieces and by Celine Schembri Wismayer and Claude Marguerat. The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 11, at 9am, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart sanctuary, Sliema. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family would like to thank all the staff at The Imperial nursing home, Sliema, for their dedicated and impeccable care during his last days.

He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Ann, née Cassar Torreggiani, his son Francesco, his daughter Kristina and her husband Prof. Paul Sant Cassia, his son James and his wife Jeanette née Battles, his daughter Stephanie and her husband Dr. Martin Testaferrata Moroni Viani, his grandchildren Austin, Alexander, Adam, Nicholas, Martina and Sophia, his sister Marlene and her husband Austin Attard Montalto, his in-laws and their relative spouses, his nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral will take place at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Mdina, on Saturday, September 11, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 10.30am. Conte Dr Edward de Bono.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news that Dr Edward de Bono, 88, the originator of the term Lateral Thinking has passed away peacefully. 
Edward de Bono lived an extraordinary life, inspiring, encouraging and enabling us to be better and more creative thinkers.
He wrote in his book The Mechanism of Mind “A memory is what is left when something happens and does not completely unhappen.” May the memory of Edward live on and inspire many future generations.
There will be funeral in his home country of Malta and a memorial at a later date in the UK.

The ceremony was witnessed by the bride’s sister, Audrey Schembri Wismayer Busuttil and the groom’s sister, Sarah Ciantar Testaferrata Moroni Viani. The duties of best man were carried out by Mark Testaferrata Moroni Viani. May love and laughter fill their hearts and their home.

She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her dear husband Raymond, her sons James and his wife Daphne, and Ian and her precious granddaughters Jade and Emma; her sisters and brother, amongst whom Mother Abbess, Sr Maria Adeodata Testaferrata de Noto, OSB, of Mdina (Catherine); her father-in-law and mother-in-law Paul and Antonia; her sisters-in-law and their families, many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
