John wasn’t born in Killearnan, and neither was his wife, nor their first 2 children. Cavalieri Vincenzo Borg, (1777 – 18 July 1837), C.M.G., 1833. Vincenzo Borg was born at Birkirkara. He was appointed Lieutenant of his village in 1800 untill 11 January 1804, when he quarrelled with Captain Alexander Ball, then Governor of Malta. On 2 February 1801 he was awarded the gold medal Pro Patria and on 9 February 1833, was made a Knight of the Order of St Michael and St George. He died 18 July 1837 and was buried in the collegiate parish church of Birkirkara. It so happened that the newly-completed statue of St Helen, patron saint of that parish, was carried inside the church for the first time on the preceeding day and, since the deceased had given a large sum of money to pay for the statue, his corpse was taken to that chiurch for the obsequies while the church was still decorated for the inaugural entrance of that statue., married (1) 1806 to Girolama Debono., married (2) 1828 to Consolata Bonnici., with issue.
